About
Criminal Defense Attorney | Federal & State Trial Counsel | Former Federal Public Defender
With over 15 years of experience in criminal defense, I bring a disciplined, strategic, and client-centered approach to every case. My journey from military service to the courtroom has instilled in me a relentless commitment to justice and an unwavering dedication to my clients.
A Legacy of Service and Discipline
Following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather, I enlisted in the U.S. Army before pursuing higher education. This foundation of service and discipline has been instrumental in shaping my legal career. After my military tenure, I graduated summa cum laude from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, with dual majors in English and Political Science.
Academic Excellence and Legal Acumen
I earned my Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law on a full scholarship, graduating with honors in 2006. During law school, I was honored with the American Jurisprudence Award for outstanding achievement in both Immigration Law and Public Health Law, reflecting my commitment to academic excellence and legal proficiency.
Federal Defense Expertise
After establishing my own criminal defense practice in Lubbock, I served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Texas from 2007 to 2013. In this role, I represented clients facing a spectrum of federal charges, from mail theft to complex, multi-million-dollar white-collar fraud cases. My tenure honed my skills in navigating the intricacies of federal court proceedings and reinforced my dedication to defending the rights of the accused.
Proven Trial Experience Across Texas
I have successfully represented clients in all facets of criminal proceedings, including detention hearings, probation and supervised release revocations, and jury trials. My trial experience spans the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, encompassing cities such as Amarillo, Lubbock, San Angelo, Abilene, Midland, Odessa, and Pecos. I frequently defend against charges involving immigration offenses, firearms violations, drug charges, sex offenses, and fraud.
Client-Centered Representation
My approach to criminal defense is rooted in a deep commitment to my clients. I understand the profound impact criminal charges can have on individuals and their families, and I strive to provide personalized, compassionate, and vigorous representation. By thoroughly investigating each case, crafting strategic defenses, and advocating zealously in court, I aim to secure the best possible outcomes for those I represent.
